Australian Rail Technology to establish specialist factory on the Fraser Coast
Australian Rail Technology (ART) is excited to be awarded a contract to provide rolling stock technology to the Queensland Government’s Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP).

As a supplier, ART will help create a new fleet of trains that are built locally and maintained by Downer Rail. These trains will provide modern, reliable, and accessible transport for passengers throughout South East Queensland and will support local industries.

ART has over 20 years of experience in the rail sector, having previously completed several significant rollingstock projects in New South Wales and Victoria.

The company plans to leverage its expertise in manufacturing and maintenance by setting up a specialised factory in Dundowran on the Fraser Coast, with construction planned to commence in 2025.

This will be the largest expansion for ART since its foundation and represents a significant investment in Queensland.

Once completed, the facility will remain a core part of the business enabling manufacturing, service and maintenance work to be completed in Queensland, for Queensland.
